TANZANIAN YOUNG HEROINE FIGHTS BACK FOR ALL OTHER KIDS

Tanzanian Miss Restieli Moses Mwambo

You have not lived until such time as you have parented.  If you have left your kid with the mother and "eloped" with faithless women, well go back to the mother of your child and help her do the parenting.  If you can't bear a kid, go adopt one: it is the parenting that constitutes parenthood... it is NOT the actual FATHERING or MOTHERING, though these are also nice-to-haves!

These words come to mind when I re-read the moving story of Miss Restieli Moses Mbwambo (pictured) from the famous Kilimanjaro Region of the United Republic of Tanzania... it is famous because that is where you find the Kilimanjaro Mountain (which heritage too many mistake for property of a neighbouring state!)

Anyway, at some stage in Mbwambo's days as a baby (and exactly on this day 17 July), her body suffered serious epithelial disfigurement due to an accident in a kitchen.... THE KIND OF ACCIDENT THAT ONLY KIDS ARE CAPABLE OF BRINGING UPON THEMSELVES ON THE LEAST LAPTE OF PARENTAL CONCENTRATION!!!

Mbwambo tells her story in detail here.

What Mbwambo did in her story was to valiantly give a face to a story little- and under-told in Southern Africa: THE STORY OF TODDLERS WHO GET SCALDED EVERY SO OFTEN, PARTICULARLY AT TIMES LIKE THIS WHEN OUR SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE GOES THROUGH WINTER.

It is a story of courage for both young Mbwambo and her parents: it takes grit to admit as a parent you had a slip-up and thus allowed your daughter's beautiful features to lose their natural flow and her beautiful face to lose its feminine fluorescence forever particularly in an Africa where cosmetic surgery costs the earth  itself!

Yet the story has been told still.  And that's spunk for you, Mbwambo Family in Tanzania!

Read more about this story in a Swedish blog as highlighted hereunder, and if you cannot follow Kiswahili, worry not, as Google in particular can sufficiently translate the story for you from the Swahili to English.

Happy Parenting!
