HOW THE UNITY OF THE PARTY WAS BUILT POST-POLOKWANE
I do not understand the hullabaloo and angst in South Africa relating to the defeat Comrade Kgalema Motlanthe received at Mangaung Elective Conference of South Africa's ruling party, the African National Congress, so recently.
The Fat Lady Has Still Not Sung For Perceived Winner!
Let me tell you why I so think.
First remember how our Man-of-The-Moment trounced Thabo Mbeki as well some six or so years ago at Polokwane? IT WAS GREAT! IT WAS MIND-BLOWING! But then there was a problem our toast of the day had to grapple with: CORRUPTION CHARGES WITH SCHABIR SCHAIK THE CONVICT.
The problem for his was the fact that the man (Mr Thabo Mbeki abusing his power as State President) who wanted Ladies Man behind bars was born and bred in the Easter Cape Province of the Republic of South Africa, Xhosa-speaking like fellow-regionalist Mr Nelson Mandela. But South Africans were, just as they still are, GATVOL (I am looking for English Translation Still) of Mandelasque-Nguni-Xhosa tribalism WHICH HAS BEEN SINCE THE 1940'S PARTICULARLY XHOSA-SPEAKING IN FLAVOUR.
And so the great ANC delegates ELECTED A POTENTIAL CONVICT FOR CORRUPTION INTO ITS PRESIDENCY JUST TO GET RID OF THABO MBEKI'S MANDELASQUE XHOSA TRIBALISM (Thabo Mbeki himself is natively Xhosa-speaking even though he is no Xhosa: rather a Mfengu and one of the peoples who in the 19th Century's Mfecane/Difaqane migrated from areas likep present-day KwaZulu-Natal and Swaziland as well as Mpumalanga and Gauteng Provinces of the Republic of South Africa).
In other words: ANYTHING INCLUSIVE A CRIMINAL BECAME BETTER FOR THE ANC DELEGATES THAN MANDELASQUE XHOSA TRIBALISM WHICH WAS STILL PURSURSUED BY THABO MBEKI (Nelson Mandela is the one who brought up the lie that everybody born Xhosa-speaking is a Xhosa and thus introuduced as early as the 1940's the Eastern-Cape regionalism to this day dominating Jacob Zuma's moribund reign of the ANC)
HOW THE SPY TAPES CAME INTO PLAY TO PUT OUR LADIES MAN INTO THE POCKET OF EASTERN-CAPE REGIONALISTS
I have a lot of sober and full-rounded respect for the brain of a Mandelasque-Xhosa-tribalist in power today, yesterday, and yester century (remember we started engaging each as early 1985 in Tanzanian exile, the camp of Morgoro's Dakawa).
These are thinkers as shrewd as they are cruel. And as of this 2012 and earlier, methinks their shredest strategist is the admirable man, Mr Gwede Mantashe. And if I read my news reports well over Mangaung, Mr Mantashe (the power behind the throne of Ladies Man), has just been re-elected as Secretary General of South Africa's ruling party.
Now here is the catch about Mr Mantashe: he has been in government all behind the scenes. It is an open secret in South Africa and for us military officers that for every serious decision the Department of Defence and Veterans Affairs had to take since our Ladies Man came to power, the incumbent Minister (she speaks the same langauge as Mr Mantashe) had to consult...not Ladies Man ensconced at the Union Building Out of Frustration With Mandelasque Xhosa Tribalism Via Polokwane...SHE CONSULTED GWEDE MANTASHE!
In other words, with the emergence of Ladies Man to power, NOTHING CHANGED FROM THE ERA OF MANDELASQUE-XHOSA-TRIBALISTIC MR THABO MBEKI OF EASTERN CAPE REGIONALISM IN THE AFFAIRS OF SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNANCE! Nothing changed because they bought a potential corruption convict Ladies Man with the infamous SPY TAPES!
To this day of his second win for term as leader of the ANC, Ladies Man HAS SHOWN THE MIDDLE FINGER TO ALL COURTS OF THE REPUBLIC FOR PRODUCING THOSE SPY TAPES AND NOW IN MANGAUNG HE RECEIVED A RESOUNDING YEAH YEAH FOR THAT UNDERMINING OFTHE RULE OF LAW TO PRODUCED THOSE SPY TAPES, BUT NEXTTO ALL THE 2000 OR SO DELEGATES WHO RETURNED LADIES MAN TO POWER (against Motlanthe 1000 or so) THEY ARE BIG SHOTS PUT INTO AND SERVING IN LADIES MAN'S GOVERNMENT!!!! But nobody sane will ever bite the hand that feeds them (or more properly "no dog sane will ever bite the hand that feeds them").
AND THAT IS HOW LADIES MAN SO MUCH HATED BY BOTH ANC MEMBERS AND SOUTH AFRICANS COULD THOROUGHLY BEAT A GOOD MAN LIKE MR KGALEMA MOTLANTHE.
That having been said, one must salute the thousand or so delegates of the ANC (as led by Motlanthe) who fought with so much valour to save the good name of the organization that our ancestors founder a hundred years ago (ANC Intellectual Founder Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme is writer's maternal second cousin, while ANC Material Founder Kingdom of Swaziland's Queen Mother Labotsibeni is writer's maternal first cousin).
I salute them for giving a good fight.
I also salute Comrade Motlanthe for standing up to a 'democratic despot', if ever one was ever in existence in allowance to rule South Africa like hell in the next severn or so years.
Yes, Comrades of the Great ANC, when you fight: you can either win or lose, but now you guys have LOST! I wish, in the name of democracy, that you could find a way to accept your loss with grace IF THERE IS THE WAY.
However, I am suspicious that that will be next-to-impossible if you guys are determined to stop:
1. Corruption as perceived to be championed by Ladies Man in the Union Building
2. Objectification of women of the Republic as nothing better in government, than concubines of their bosses (writer has given sufficient example of this happening in the Republic's most important Department which is Defence with Mandela's own cousin having passed only for her ability to performing sexually... so-called Brigadier General... and one Zini-Bobelo all under the Commander-in-Chiefship of Ladies Man Re-elected By Materially Compromised Delegates in Mangaung And Thus Threatening The Survival of Our Great ANC)
3. Abuse of power to settle political scores by using the judiciary or the courts of South Africa in orders to settle scores against dissenters like Lieutenant Colonel Goodman Manyanya Phiri who could not allow fear, but defied it by blowing the whistle back in 2001 against Brigadier General Winnie Ntombizodwa Bobelo for fornicating in order to be promoted rather than working hard like other South African women of all races do in order to rise up the ladder. (NATURALLY, MANGAUNG-RE-ELECTED LADIES MAN BY MATERIALLY COMPROMISED DELEGATES DISLIKES PHIRI'S STANCE HENCE MY ON-GOING PERSECUTION).
However, AT THE END OF ALL THE POLOKWANE DAY THAT SAW LADIES MAN RISING IN POER INSTEAD OF GOING TO JAIL...
He was bouth with so-called SPY TAPES which are naturally proving impossible to be proffered to other South Africans as ordered by courts!
I believe MANDELASQUE XHOSA TRIBALISTS-CUM-EASTERN-CAPE-REGIONALISTS (who forces Phiri to become a member of the ANC first before getting as an employee of the Republic state assistance in defending himself for charges that ensued as from 2001 when Phiri reported Mandela's Cousin's corruption at the South African Army College under the Department of Defence behind-the-scenes-controlled by Mangaung-re-elected Gwede Mantashe).

Now, we have already demostrated how Ladies Man, through the infamous SPY TAPES succeeded to build a facade of reconciliation between the Nguni-Xhosa dominating the ANC from the 1940s through Nelson Mandela's own racist supremacist ideas of the Eastern Cape Native on one hand and on the other hand the Nguni-Zulu ethnicity via our great friend Ladies Man Jacob Zuma!
It was a facade, I say, because it was not born out of genuine love for the ANC on the part of our Ladies Man, but it was born of self-preservation from a time in jail alongside his alleged partner, Convict Schabir Shaik!
Now, if you follow my logic, and many one too many other writers will not follow my logic: HOW ON EARTH IS JACOB ZUMA GOING TO UNIFY THE ANC FACTION PRO-HIM AND THE ANC FACTION-PRO MOTLANTHE WHERE ZUMA HAS NOTHING TO GAIN VERY MATERIALLY FROM SUCH A PEACE-PIPE-SMOKING.
I say ZERO!
